Smart Homes
These days we are all focused on saving energy, partially because it is the right thing to do for the planet and partially because the cost of energy is unbelievable and getting harder to afford. One of the ways that this problem is fought with is through the use of technology and specifically smartphones. If houses are coming equipped with devices that can communicate with our phones, we can know more about them and ways to reduce wasted energy. Consider your house being able to internet fax you a monthly report of how energy is being used and ways to improve it and make it more efficient. This type of technology is still in the making and will take some years to have it be commonplace. As of now it is still very expensive to deck your house out with all the gadgets. Retrofitting a house with the latest smart meters, smart monitors and energy-efficient "green" technologies can cost $10,000 or more. I will keep you posted of the green movement in the future.
